Sonic Environment
Documentary of architect Steve Holl and the
design process of his hybrid building complex in Beijing, China. I used surround recordings of singing bowls to depict the delicacy and utility of this art form and to underlie the socio-politcal culture as it exists in China.
The singing bowls simultaneoiulsy depict the freedom and openess of the buildings and the optimism of it's public spaces.
