Original Music , Sound Design and Performance
This 2006 experimental theater performance about what occurs before during and after an
airplane crash was scored entirely by watching rehearsals communicated to my studio
New York via Skype over the Internet from the State Theater in Istanbul, Turkiye.
Ambiant sounds of JFK airport and various soundscapes create a
floating mood for the actors as they hurtle through the air.
The piece was subsequently chosen in 2008 to be a part of the Bonn Biennale celebrating Turkish art and culture.
I was very happy to be invited to be a part of this performance which took place in the Kammerspiele Theater .

Ustun Akmen, Istanbul's most important theater critic wrote on a recent review written in Turkish theater magazine "Evrensel" of a performance of Last World that "John Plenges'in ses tasarimi kusursuz". Translated he said, "John Plenges sound design is perfect".
